2018
 

  • Nicole Knott has successfully auditioned and accepted a position to study dance full-time with Dynamite Studios Australia in 2019!

  • Congratulations to Rhiannon Snow, on successfully auditioning and performing with the Brisbane City Youth Ballet’s in their production of ‘The Magic Toyshop’.  Rhiannon received the Marie-Ann Grosskreutz Award after her outstanding performance!

  • Kinzie Campbell has successfully auditioned and has toured Queensland as a lead dancer with the National Conservatoire Ballet company, in their production of ‘Nanny McPhee’.

  • Congratulations to our beautiful dancers who danced with the Toowoomba Ballet Theatre recently in their production of ‘Cinderella’ – Nicole Knott, Kyle Snow, Kassidy-Jayne Flood, Kinzie Campbell, Rhiannon Snow and Emily Bowden. It was a wonderful performance! A special mention to Kyle Snow on receiving the TBT Encouragement Award for 2018. Past LCDA dancer Chelsea Bowden, was also a part of TBT and received a scholarship for 2019.

  • A big congrats to Olivia Slatter on being cast to share the lead role of ‘Cosette’ in the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society’s production of Les Miserables.

  • Well done to our Eisteddfod Team on amazing results at both the Kingaroy Eisteddfod and the Maryborough Eisteddfod. A special mention to the following students for receiving special awards:

  • Well done to our Glenn Wood Tap Exam students who received amazing results! 5 students received Gold Awards (98% - 100%) and lots of lovely High Distinctions and Distinctions.

  • Well done to our Acro Exam students who have all achieved fantastic results, 100% pass rate.

  • Congratulations to our RAD Graded Ballet Exam students on wonderful results, 100% pass rate once again. All students received either a Distinction or a Merit.

  • A huge congratulations to two of our senior dancers - Kristy Nicholson and Chelsea Bowden, who have accepted offers with Dynamite Studios Australia to study full-time dance in 2018! We could not be more proud of these two young ladies and we look forward to seeing where this opportunity will take them.

  • Congratulations to our Eisteddfod Team on their success at the Kingaroy Eisteddfod last term. A special mention to the following students for receiving awards: Kristy Nicholson ‘Most Improved’, Chelsea Bowden ‘Most Promising Dancer’, Hayley Stephens ‘Intermediate Classical Ballet Encouragement Award’, Nicole Knott ‘Senior Contemporary Encouragement Award’, Haylee Nicholson ‘Intermediate Contemporary Encouragement Award’. All of our solo, duo and trio students danced well, with many receiving impressive results and feedback. Group placing’s were as follows: 

              -8 years & under Neo – 1st place        

              -10 years & under Neo – Highly Commended

              -Open Neo – 1st place                           

             - Open Ballet – 1st place

       Overall LCDA walked away with 8 x 1st, 6 x 2nd, 5 x 3rd, 7 x 4th, 1 x Highly Commended. ​

  • Kyle Snow & Naryan Hinchliff were successful in auditioning and have danced alongside the Queensland Ballet in their production of 'La Fille Mal Gardee'.

  • Hayley Stephens & Madi Crane were successful in auditioning for The Brisbane City Youth Ballet’s production of ‘Alice in Wonderland’. Madi has accepted the offer and has performing on stage at the Powerhouse Theatre in June 2017.

  • Congratulations to Hayley Stephens on her acceptance into Ballet Theatre Queensland (BTQ). Hayley will perform in their production of ‘The Little Mermaid’ in January 2018.

  • Kinzie Campbell, Olivia Slatter, Hannah Diprose & Lilly Reiger have successfully auditioned in the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society’s production of ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Well done! 

  • Congratulations to Kinzie Campbell who took the stage in BCYB's production of 'The Magic Faraway Tree' during January.

  • A huge congrats to Emily Bowden, who received the 'Most Outstanding Young Artist' -Junior Level at the International Ballet Workshop on the Gold Coast.​

  • Anekah Hinchliff, Nicole Knott, Kinzie Campbell and Naryan Hinchliff were successful in auditioning for the West Moreton Youth Ballet’s production of Snow White. Each student was chosen for either a lead role or an understudy role. The students performed on stage at the Toowoomba Empire Theatre in April 2017. 

  • Kinzie Campbell & Nicole Knott received special awards from the West Moreton Youth Ballet for their dedication, positivity and effort throughout the rehearsals and performance. Both students have received Scholarships for the 2018 production.

2016

  • Nicole Knott & Hayley Stephens awarded 'High Potential Student'.

  • Lilly Perkins received the Encouragement Award.

  • Shiloh, Jewel & Shanti Cannell recipients of the 2016 LCDA Scholarship.

  • 100% pass rate for RAD Ballet Examinations and Acrobatic Arts Examinations.

  • Anekah Hinchliff, Nicole Knott, Kinzie Campbell and Naryan Hinchliff have successfully auditioned for the West Moreton Youth Ballet’s production of Snow White. Each student was chosen for either a lead role or an understudy role. They will perform at the Empire Theatre, Toowoomba in April 2017.

2015

  • Emily Wyvil awarded 'High Potential Student'.

  • Anekah Hinchliff received the Encouragement Award.

  • Chelsea Bowden & Whitney Gibson recipients of the 2016 LCDA Scholarship.

  • Nicole Knott successfully completed a Certificate III in Performing Arts course (30879QLD) delivered at LCDA, in conjunction with the Australian Dance Performance Institute.

  • Nicole Knott was a finalist in the Dance Life Unit National Finals in Sydney. She competed for Teen Model, Contemporary soloist and Lyrical soloist.

  • Hayley Stephens performed in the Queensland Ballet's production of Coppelia at The Empire Theatre.

  • Tegan Kaluder gained acceptance into two full time dance programs for 2016. Tegan will study an Advanced Diploma in Dance at the Queensland National Ballet in 2016.

  • 29 students successfully completed a total of 37 RAD Examinations/Class Awards, with 100% pass rate.

  • Nicole Knott & Hayley Stephens performed Solos at the Nanango State High School Spots Concert.

  • Hayley Stephens performed in the Brisbane City Youth Ballet, Junior Extension Company.
